SMA carrier

Hi all,

When we did our first genetic screenings via blood test at my first doctor's appointment at 7 weeks, we got bad results: my husband and I are both carriers of Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Basically it means that the baby has a 1 in 4 chance of being affected. From the research I've done in the meantime I've learned that this is a horrible disease and we've come to the awful conclusion that we'll terminate if we find out the baby is affected. I am now at almost 12 weeks and I am having my CVS test on Monday. I'm dreading the wait for results - about 2 weeks. Has anyone else had an experience with an SMA diagnosis? Or can shed some light on the CVS procedure? Really scared about the whole thing...
