I'm torn between an owl theme and a travel/international theme.
Keep in mind that my crib and hutch are mahogany-colored and my glider (and likely changing table) are white, so the furniture is mismatched. Also, the baseboards in the room are white. With either theme, I will likely use a gray-based blue color so it is not too bright...
1) If I use the owl theme, I will use the DwellStudio Owls Sky bedding (although I will only buy the sheet and stroller blanklet in the print and then use solid or brown and white skirt and bumper)

I have found lots of owl things (mobile, picture, etc) on Etsy to go along with this.
2) If I use the travel theme, I will likely use more solid colored bedding - maybe this with the chocolate border
With this theme, I would put 3 clocks above the changing table with different times of major cities in the world, a pillow with a map print on the glider, a globe mobile, printed and framed scenic pics of our travels, etc.
Which theme do you like better?? I didn't want anything really "babyish", although it IS a nursery.
I'm torn. I need to make a decision and get started b/c I JUST started my third trimester!!
Re: PLEASE help me decide on theme/bedding
I like the owl bedding better than the white/brown, but the Travel theme could be really cool (and definitely unique) if everything works out how you plan. Have you traveled? It would be neat to put black and white pictures of where you have been in there too. If you wanted to add some touches of baby, you could get stuffed animals of exotic animals: giraffes, koalas, etc.
ETA: Sorry, I guess I didn't read your last paragraph.
I second and third the Owls! Towards that end, have you seen these?
