My DH loves Mason.....but our last name ends in "son".  Mason ____son??? 

I love Mason but think it would be weird with our last name....it's a bit early since we aren't offically TTC yet....but give me some feedback....

I actually do not think it will be bad. I normally don't like name that rhyme but I don't think in your case you will have a problem. If you last name is longer like "Clarkson" or "Johnson" then it will be fine but if you are naming him Mason Jason than yes it will sound funny.

The first thing I thought of was Mason-Dixon. Too much.

I think it depends on how long your last name is. Mason Jason sounds weird, Mason McGibson sounds fine. And please forgive my horrible examples of last names.

I'd stay away from the double -son names.   I like Mason a lot though.

No Mason if the last name ends in "son".

I live in Maryland. Totally makes me think of the Mason-Dixon line and once he studies it in history class, his classmates will probably call him that.

My hubby is Jason and our last name ends in ___son, much like Jenson. He likes his name and has had no problems with it. I think it's fine.
