How much does donor sperm cost?

I have been looking on google and it seems like it costs about $300 to $500 for donor sperm.  Are there additional fees that REs usually charge?  Tomorrow we are meeting with our RE to discuss IUIs with donor sperm.  My insurance covers IUI but I dont know if the donor sperm is covered.

    That is the average cost - I think mine was about $400 a vial. 

    Additional fees include cost of photos and donor profiles, you have to pay for storage and delivery to RE's for iuis.  If the sperm is unwashed then you also have to pay for sperm washing.

    FWIW - I used a site called spermcenter.com to search cryobanks according to the characters we were looking for.  And if you want more than one child and want them to be genetically related then order a good amount sperm for multiple tries.

    It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

    I am in the beginning of starting the process of IUI with donor sperm as well. The price of the sperm varies depending on the sperm bank but you are in the right range .... also they all list their prices on their websites so check some out. Other charges are shipping/storage etc.

     Also make sure to double check your insurance coverage with donor sperm because most insurance companies will not cover the procedure if you use donor sperm. Hopefully yours does though!

    I believe sperm ranges from about 300 - 560 per vial.  A processing fee, that they waived which was $60. Shipping which I think was between $100-$150. And then storage at my clinic is $300 a year or $60 for three months.

    Thats great you have the IUI covered, that will help you save.
