Baby Names

How's this combo?

I posted a few days ago about DH and I not being able to agree on a girls' name (TTC #2)  He wants Catherine Elizabeth and I want Abigail Elizabeth.  So...we will probably use all three, even if it's a mouthful.  We were thinking about Elizabeth as a first name with the other two, but it doesn't flow well.  I might have convinced him to go with Abigail as a first name (for my mom)

So...how is Abigail Catherine Elizabeth S____?

  • That's one long name...

  • Yeah, I know...but we really love all three names! :)
  • Before you go naming a child just because you like something, think about the possible repercussions for said child.  Would you have wanted to grow up with a name like that?

  • It is pretty, but it's long.  How about just Abigail Catherine?

I don't think it's that bad of a name....?  Just because it's long?  FWIW, our boy name is 3 family names and no one ever said it was too long.  Not arguing, just wondering.

  • That is a REALLY long name.

I'm thinking of the poor kid when she learns cursive.

    Sadie is not impressed.

  • It's verrry long. I like all the names though. I like either:

    Abigail Catherine

    Elizabeth Abigail

    Catherine Elizabeth

  • If it were up to me, I'd just leave it Catherine Elizabeth.

(then again, I have a Catherine bias, being one myself.)

  • Thanks for all the repiles :)

Ugh, it's so hard to choose (and we're not even pregnant again yet, ha ha!)  DH is stuck on Catherine Elizabeth.  I totally dominated DD's name, so I guess it's only fair.  I might be able to convince him to drop Elizabeth in favour of Abigail.  We've got tons of time (and hey, we might have a boy!) so I'm not too worried.  I just really enjoy talking names.

  • I like it, but I think I prefer Catherine Abigail Elizabeth over Abigail Catherine Elizabeth.

  • If there's any chance you could have another child, I'd save a name for later. I have four names (FN, MN, Maiden name, Married Name.) I really only ever use three. So, one is going to get "thrown out." And if I'd had four names, I would be FN, MN, MN#2, Maiden, Married. Which is a mouth. full.

    Ha ha!

It's unnecessarily long in my opinion. I would save one of the names in case I had another kid down the road.
