Can anyone explain progesterone?

I think I know the basics, but I am so confused- my level today (3dpiui) was 2.7, and my RE looks for a 10.  I thought that would have meant I did not ovulate, but the nurse assured me I did. 

I will be taking another injection of Ovidrel tonight to boost my progesterone, but if my progesterone has been low the past few days, is that bad for any conception action that might be taking place?  Or is this soon enough for the problem to be corrected?

You can O with low progesterone it was just a veeeery week one. That was our problem. With clomid we got nice strong ovulation each time but with our pg the progestone didn't hold. So we'll be on prometrium supps during the 1st tri. This may change after we do the RPL though.

Every situation can be different though.

Thanks!  I just feel like it is one thing after the other.  Last cycle my level was a 12, so getting a 2.7 was quite a shock!  I hope the Ovidrel boosts me up

I think it is early enough. I had mine checked 5dpiui and my progesterone level was 36, but, my ovaries were small so they had me do a half-dose hcg shot.

Are they making you take the hcg bc of your low level or because of your ovary size? Are you also doing suppositories?

I am doing the shot because of my Progesterone level.  I have never heard anything about ovary size and trigger.  I haven't been told to use suppositories.  Thanks for the advice and good luck to you!

Your progesterone peaks at 7dpo, so you want at least a 10 for an unmedicated cycle and at least 15 for a medicated cycle at that point in time. Implantation doesn't happen until 7-10dpo, so it is too soon to do anything about that right now.
