Pottery party for 4 yr olds

The kids would all be 3-4 yrs old.  They could paint a plate or something simple.  Is it too girly for DS?  Some of the boys in his class are pretty rough and tumble so I don't know if they'd think it was lame or not.  I could deliver their items after the party.  Thoughts?

That seems kind of young to me.  DD is having a pottery party and the place we're going suggests having only kids that are 5 and up.

I think it's kind of young too.  It could get REALLY messy with 4 year olds.
