is endometrin and prometrium same?

I already have a stock of prometrium on hand. and an rx for endometrin has been called in for my new ivf cycle. I was wondering if they are the same. I have caleld and left my nurse a msg.

Re: is endometrin and prometrium same?

  • Yes... Prometrium I think you take twice per day, and endometrin three times per day (I guess depending on the dosage you are prescribed). When my nurse & I were talking about what I was going to use for support this last time, she suggested prometrium but I told her I already had two extra boxes of endometrin and would prefer to use it, and she told me it was fine and just to adjust the doseage.

  • Yes, it is just made by different companies. My insurance covers one, but not the other. So my RE switch the script to get the covered one and did not bat an eye.
