DH & I have been thinking about Aurelia Lee or Aurora Lynn -- what does everyone think? We want non-traditional names, but not completely unusual! We seem to be getting 'a face' from people when we say Aurelia.... would love some feedback!
My husband likes Aurelia (thanks to the movie) but I'm just not sure I do (and now that we're having a boy, we don't have to decide). It reminds me of ariola and I think she'll get made fun of. I think it's one of those names that won't be appreciated, and is a bit hard to say. You could do Lia as a nickname?
I grew up with an Aurora, so I really like that name. I think Rory is adorable.

I think Aurelia is really pretty but only pronounced like on Love Actually (and Aurora is nice too but harder to say) but I don't like either mn with those first names. What about:
Aurelia Mae
Aurelia Jane
Aurelia Belle
Aurelia Grace
Aurelia Diane
Aurelia Kate

Ariola never even crossed my mind! And we've been trying to think of ways names could me made fun of.. I will talk to DH about this, thanks so much!!
Lee is a family name that I want to pass on, so we are trying to pick a first name that fits.
We don't have any problems with boy names, we've had those picked out for quite a while: Olliver Roy (Call him Ollie, Roy is in honor of my Gpa) or James Elijah (call him Elijah)
I definitely agree that as soon as kids get sex ed in school, Aurelia will get made fun of. I also just like the name Aurora better. it's much easier to say.

Aurelia was my Latin name in high school when I took Latin. Means golden. I like it, but I can understand if others think it's too different. It's ultimately your decision, though, so it really doesn't matter what others think. Yell it out the front door like you're calling your kid in for dinner. See if it feels right...

Re: Help with girl names!
I hadn't thought of Elle, Ellie or Rory as ways to shorten the names! I really like Rory, but I don't think DH is too keen on it...
Love Actually is where we first heard the name! LOL! We looked it up though, and it is latin for 'Golden.'

Neither are my style, however, I like Aurelia is better but with a different middle name. Aurelia Lee is a tongue twister.
