This is my SIL's name and I love it, although she spells her name Aliza. I think it's a unique and pretty name without being too out there.

I think it's a pretty name but I have a very bad association with it and it's not Minelli. A girl I used to work with (and still see from time to time) has this name and I am NOT fond of her at all. She's a total AW in the worst way. But for someone who doesn't know her, I'm sure the name would be very pretty. I think her name is actually Eliza Beth *****.

I love it! My middle name is Elizabeth and I am a huge Judy Garland(Liza Minelli's mom) fan so Eliza and Liza are on my list.

the real reason I like Eliza is because I feel it is a classic name that still sounds modern.

I am in the minority here, but I absolutely loathe the name Eliza.  I do think of Liza Minelli, but I also think of Eliza Jane from the Little House on the Prairie books. (She was Almanzo's sister.  She was even worse on the TV series.)  Even without those two references, though, I wouldn't like the name.
