Did your handwriting change?

Handwriting analysis (graphology) has been a side hobby for me for a while and I've noticed that since I got pregnant, my handwriting has changed a little.  If you believe in graphology, this makes sense. The basic concept is that your inner psyche comes out in your writing by how much pressure you use, the angle you write at and how you form certain letters.

For me, my lower loops on letters like j,y,g,q, etc have gotten more pronounced. The letters that dip below the line are said to represent your reproductive system (and often reflect your interest in sex). So, that makes sense.

Some people think graphology is quackery, no matter how you view it - it is kind of interesting, though. :-) Did your handwriting change at all???

It's fun. You can't take it super seriously, but there is a little something to it.  :) If you're interested, there's a cool book called Sex, Lies and Handwriting.

  • I love Graphology!! I'd love to learn more about it - maybe get a book on it. Do you recommend one? I did some internet research on it a few months back, and read alot of criminal's handwriting notes...very interesting!

As for your question - I am writing faster which isn't as pretty as I usually write. I will have to pay more attention now!

Yup. If you want one that's less like a text book and more like a book you'd sit down and read (anecdotes, etc) get Sex, Lies and Handwriting.  She does get a little wild with it saying that some ax murderer's letters were shaped like an ax so they could predict he'd kill someone with that weapon some day. But, again, if you take that all in stride, there is some super cool stuff and there are undeniable observations that she makes. I read the book in about 3 evenings it was so interesting!
