Success after IF

Anyone have a fever early on while PG?

Hey ladies. I have not officially introduced myself yet (was waiting until next week) so I hope you don't mind the question. I woke up feeling warm with chills this morning. I called my nurse and checked my temperature. It's under 100 and I am only having the same cramping I have had since ET (no searing pain) so my nurse didn't seem overly concerened rather she asked me to monitor it for today and to take Tylenol as directed. Just wondering if any of you have experienced this. I am 4 weeks 6 days, so still pretty early on. TIA.

Re: Anyone have a fever early on while PG?

  • I had the stomach flu (really bad) about 10 wks pg and low fever about 101.  They said tylenol every 4-6 hrs as needed and make sure you do not get dehydrated and keep an eye on temp.  GL and Congrats on your BFP!!

  • I had some stomach thing around 6 or 8 weeks last time.  My fever got up around 102 - my dr. actually said to not worry unless/until it reached and stayed above 103, just take tylenol, stay hydrated, etc.

Still sucks though, and I was definitely worried anyway!  So hope you feel better soon.

    (And huge congrats, btw!)

  • You can expect to run hot with pregnancy.

Anything under 100 is considered normal while pregnant.

    I usually ran 99.3 or 99.4

It's from the elevated progesterone in your system.

    And.... CONGRATS!!!

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
  • I got a cold when I was 5 or 6 weeks pregnant and had a low grade fever (around 99.5 or 99.6) My RE's office told me the same thing and i took Tylenol to keep the fever under 100.

  • Kelly!!!  I haven't been on IF lately, so I didn't see your BFP post...congratulations!  I've thought of you often but I'm a slacker when it comes to emailing.  Welcome to SAIF...I'm so happy for you!
  • I had a slight fever around the same time as you-- the day I got my BFP, in fact. It was like 100.9. I took Tylenol and drank lots of fluids and everything was fine-- I think it has to be a pretty high and sustained fever to be any danger to the baby. I'd take your nurse's advice and also try to rest lots today.

  • Thanks ladies for the insight.  I just took my temp again and it is 98.1 which is normal for me.  Thanks so much for the well wishes too.

Kelly, thanks so much.  I am still in shock about the BFP and a little nervous.  First u/s is next week so we will know more then.  Here is hoping I stick around for another 9 months or so!

Hope you are well. Cannot believe how far along you are! :)
