Opinions on Cyrus

Please tell me what you think of this name - my husband loves it but I'm on the fence (although I kinda would like calling him Cy for short). The first name is picked because of its origin and the middle name is FIL's middle name:

I'm not a fan at all. ?And I think with Miley Cyrus and the Cyrus family in general being so well known (and probably staying that way for some time), it has a backwoods connotation. ?

LOL--I am from those backwoods of which you speak.  Billy Ray is from my home town, so that's all I can think of when I hear the name. But Miley has spent most of her life in Nashville/LA.

Oh, please don't do this.  Cyrus is a nice name that has been around way longer than Miley and Billy Ray have been famous.

I like it a lot and don't think of MIley at all when I hear it. I know a 1-year-old who has this name and I think it's cute/cool.

I have never seen it Syrus, but I guess it could be an alternate spelling.  According to SSA, "Syrus is not in the top 1000 male names for any year of birth in the last 50 years."   BUT, below is the Cyrus information:

I love county music and didn't think of the Cyrus family. I still don't care for it.

I like Cyrus.  I will admit my first thought was Miley and Billy Ray also, however once you introduce your baby as Cyrus, I'm sure all your friends and family will now associate him with the name instead of Miley and Billy Ray.  I also like the spelling and don't think you should change it.

The name itself sounds nice but I immediately think of Cyrus, the gay pageant coach on TLC "King of the Crown" and then Miley and Billy Ray... I'm a pop culture junkie though so it may not be most peoples' first thought.
