Herniated belly button

I'm pretty sure DS has a herniated belly button.  It pooches out and when he cries it balloons out even further.  If you push it in it sounds like there's some fluid behind it.  Has anyones LO had this?  We looked online about how long it may take to go away and it seems to vary to as long as several years.  I plan on asking our doc at our 2 month app but wanted to see if anyone here has dealt with this.

    Yep, DS has it.  The pedi will just keep an eye on it, and while it can take up to 5 years to go away, chances are it will heal sooner than that.

    As long as it stays "squishy" it's good.  Hard and red is bad.

    S had one, just like you described.  Pedi said if it was still there when he started kindergarten then we'd talk.

    It went away on its own before he was 4 months.
