honestly depends on the child my DD is going to be 5 and only weighs 30lbs, she still rides in a stroller once in awhile because she has JRA and her legs will bother her if we do a lot of walking
My DS is 4.5 and weighs 36 lbs. ?I just took him to the doctor, and that is 45% percentile. ?So that means, 55% of boys his age weigh more than 37 lbs, which means he is pretty average. ?He stopped riding in the stroller consistently at about 3. ?We now have a way too expensive double stroller that he barely sits in. ?It is nice when we have a sort of long distance to walk though, he will sit for awhile, but thats because we make him or it would take way to long for him to walk.

My DD rode in her big one until she was around 3, then an umbrella up until around 5 and she weighed about 38 pounds a that time.
