I'm not starting solids 'till 6 months and I also plan on making most of DD's food, but I was lurking on 6-12 last night and I got that Gerber has dairy and beech-nut does not, which makes a difference for some. Also it seems as though beech nut may not be as expensive.
Again I don't really know I'm just repeating what I saw on here last night.
Cost wise they're about the same, Gerber is just pennies more expensive. K will only eat Beech Nut. She didn't like the Gerber foods. I personally tasted both and really didn't see a difference. But K will eat Beechnut carrots and peas and greenbeans, but won't eat the Gerber versions of those. So I buy beechnut.
I don't really see much of a difference. DS ate the green beans from both brands and didn't seem to prefer one over the other. I had bought Gerber in preparation for starting solids and now we have a Beech-Nut variety pak from BJ's. The Beech-Nut variety pak was cheaper than the Gerber one and it came with a $1.50 off coupon for the next package!
