We just had our second daughter. DH took 3 weeks off of work and my BFF flew in from Texas to help this week. I have been so blessed to have had so much help. I'm truly grateful. I took my friend to the airport this morning and tonight with be the first night that I won't have any help.
I know in time I will figure it out, I have to because DH is a police officer and works Night shift. But I'm not sure how to get through the night cluster feeding infant during the toddler's bedtime routine. The infant wants to nurse the whole time I'm trying to get the toddler into bed and she cries the entire time if she is not nursing. I knew ahead of time this was going to be one of my biggest challenges.
Does anyone have any experience with this, wisdom, or advice? Or can you just wish me some luck for tonight?
Re: First Night Alone
My DH is a police officer also and works nights. We are going to be in your same boat in March 2010 (see ticker.)
I anticipate this to be a huge challenge too. Can you nurse the baby in a Moby or other baby carrier?
Or possibly do your toddler's bath in the morning or afternoon instead of at night when baby wants to cluster feed?
