Okay, fashionista, makeupistas. I need help w/ holiday party
DH's company party theme this year is Cirque du Soleil-ish. Glitter, club-y, almost costume-y is what I need.
I need recommendations for make up and dress. I want to go all out. Dress me and make me up!

yes, short dress is preferable, actually. I dont' think this is a formal gown type of event. Party dress, please!!!

one of my friends wore something like it a couple of months ago to an art thingy. It was fab! I have been waiting for an opportunity to buy and wear one.
Saw this on someone at a party I went to & it was fabulous. Paired with black tights & the little shooties or tall black heels.

Ok, so I think what I would do is look for a black dress that I liked and then go all out with shoes, tights, jewelry, makeup, maybe even some type of hair bow/bobby pin...
I was thinking a fab little black dress [something that suits your body type/you feel hot in], black patterned tights maybe lace pattern?] and shoes like this:
That's probably the route I would go unless I found a jewel toned dress I loved.
For makeup I would probably go with dramatic eyes that use some sort of e/s with glitter in them, black liner and a fairly plain lip color.
If I went the lbd route w/ blue shoes, I'd consider some type of crazy hair bow, maybe with feathers. Or sequins.

given the nature of the party, can I wear glittery fake eye-lashes? I'm thinking of the Sephora holiday catalogue here--over the top.

most def! I think that you need to go to a MAC counter to get your makeup done!
I know they have really long ones, but I don't know if they have ones w/ glitter or anything. But you could probably buy the ones you want and take them to the MAC counter if you decided to go with MAC makeup. They would probably apply them no problem if you're having the rest of your makeup done there.
I think MUFE @ Sephora has a crazy good selection of dramatic eyelashes.

shu uemura has the funkiest of lashes! I believe they did the fox fur lashes J-Lo wore a few years ago.
Urban Decay has some glitter liner that I love.

Sbdc - I bet you could do a red lip and pull it off. I look dumb w/ red lips I think, but if you're wearing glitter-y makeup and going all out, I would try it!
