I have started looking at some nursery furniture ideas and I think I am going to go with a dresser instead of a changing table. For those of you who went this route, how tall is the dresser? I just want to make sure it's tall enough.
we got the small Hemnes dresser from IKEA. You can see the dimensions online. We just added the pad to the top. I didn't want to spend the money for a traditional changing table when the dresser gives us the extra space too!
We went w/ a long dresser instead of an actual changing table. We figured the dresser would get much more use than the changing table. When we don't need to use it as a changing table it can still be used as his dresser.
If we were planning on having more children then we would have bought an actual changing table.

I am not getting a changing table. We will be using a dresser but not as a changing table. I can't see spending the extra money for when I can always change the baby in the crib or on my bed.
I am in a very small place and I needed something that would give me space for baby's clothes and stuff. And I wanted to keep using it after the baby was potty trained. So, I am looking at getting a small 4 drawer dresser. It is only a few inches taller than the changing table from the same line so I'm thinking I will just put a changing pad on top and use that.
We got a (really big!) changing table instead of a dresser. We're stocking the table with bins to hold: clothes that fit him right now (the rest are in the closet), wipes, diapers, rash cream, powder, and any medicines. We're just using the changing table as the diaper/ dressing/ medicating zone, to keep him in a controlled place.
We already have a big boy bed for him; it was my grandfather's (our boy's namesake) when he was a boy, along with my mom's, and mine when we were all children. When he's in that bed (must be potty trained), we'll get him a dresser that goes with it. And, once he's potty trained, we're planning on having another baby, and using the crib and changing table all over again!
