when i switched to catholic school he was going to everyone else's houses... but i was in 6th grade then so my mom was over it! hehe.

I was a military brat and we lived in Germany for three years. St. Nick was a huge thing there. We also left our boots outside the door so we would receive a small present in them, I think. It was a very long time ago:)

Yup, it's big here. Don't know anyone who doesn't celebrate it.

Yup.  My girls will be putting their shoes out again!  Good ol' Catholic school.

We do, every year!  We put our shoes outside our bedroom on December 5!

Yes, St. Nick came to our house until I was like 21!  I plan to start this year doing it with our daughter.  However St. Nick will be coming a day early because we will be in Florida the next day and we are staying with my brother, SIL and 3 boys.  I don't think it would be right to give my daughter a gift and not their's.  It's not something they do. 

Growing up we usualy got a small amount of money, like $5 or something, some candy or maybe a little toy in our shoes. 

I think that it is a Catholic thing, but I may be wrong.
