Opinion on this girl's name

We have narrowed down the first name to Christian, but, can't come up with a middle name. WDYT about Christian Stella?

Re: Opinion on this girl's name

  • It's a cute name, but I've never met a girl named Christian.  It seems particularly masculine to me, and I probably wouldn't name a DD that.

Same here.  I love the name Stella, but Christian is usually a masculine name to me.

  • I think even with a feminine middle name people will think she's a boy.

  • It's alright, I do think of it as a boys name though.

  • I'm not a fan. ?I like some boy names for girls, but Christian just seems really masculine and I don't think it sounds good with Brooklyn. ?What about just Kristin or Christina?

    jmo.?

  • I agree with pp. I've never met a girl named Christian even growing up in Christian schools.

Me too.  I like the idea of Christine/Christina though.  And I like Stella.

  • There was a soap actress, on Days of Our Lives, Kristian Alfonso (or something). Maybe that's a compromise- keeping the name but girling up the spelling to clue people in....

I think "Christian" is a boy's name, and even with a feminine MN, it still strikes me as odd, and I'm normally a fan of either androgynous or masculine names for girls.

  • I think of Christian as a boy name too, its on our boy list...

BUT... i do think it is MUCH more feminine when you spell it with a K

  • <Sigh> really?  Christian is SOOOOO masculine.  Can I ask WHY you would consider this for a little girl?

    Stella is really cute.

  • I think that I would prefer Stella as the first name... I never met a girl named Christian. Would she have a nn?

  • I agree with the others. I've only known of Christian's to be male.
  • yeah, ditto the others.  there are some boy names that are pretty unisex...christian is not one of them.  very masculine.
  • Unlike PP, I do know a female Christian...though I ony recently found out this was her name, she always goes by Chris.

I'm not a fan of the name at all, but maybe that's because I automatically think of the religion. I know a guy named Christian who's not "a Christian," and I think it's really awkward. If I were him I would have changed my name a long time ago, or at least started going by Chris. It's even worse with his last name, but I don't want to post his fill name on a bulletin board...trust me though, it's a laughably bad combination.

  • I like Christian for a girl and I love, love, love the name Stella!  I've heard a lot of typically boys names used for girls lately and I think it's cute and unique.

  • Christian is way to butch for a girl.  It is a very manly name.  NMS but I would go with Christina, Krista, etc...if you like the sound of Christian.  I love Stella, have a niece and dog with the name (the dog came first Stick out tongue).

  • What about Christiana to make it a little more feminine. You could call her Chrissy, or Chrisi
