My Target (and TRU for that matter) gets SUPER packed very early on on BF. It's almost not even worth it to me to fight the crowds. I find that the spirit of Christmas is lost when you're out in a mob of people and overhear lots of conversations that are just downright mean and pathetic.
andrews--you're right! I just noticed it's the same as its big toy book. I guess they haven't released the BF ad yet.
I still don't know what I'm going to do. I've never done BF shopping before. I hate people, and shopping. I'm a little skerred. But we're poor this year, so I can't just buy things like I usually do other years.

I have shopped BF at TRU twice, it was a madhouse, but good deals, just be willing to wait a long time in line.
I went to Target last year but later, like 6 at night. It wasn't crowded at all and I'm going to say that 80% of the black Friday deals that were gone, they had something that they were substituting other things. Some were better products and better deals imo. Unless there is something that is an awesome deal, I usually don't go out. Dh on the other hand waited at Best Buy last year. He ended up coming home but when we went back later that night, he got some of the same deals.
I have always gone but this year will be different. I will do it the way a friend does. Two people go together and you have a list of exactly what you want. One goes directly to stand in line (every store) and the other one goes and gets the items. By the time the one getting the items is back to the one in line it is a short wait. I'll try that this year and see how it goes. I've wondered when I see people waiting in line and they have nothing in their hands! lol
Re: is it me, or does it seem like TRU's black friday deals...
