Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

c/s on Monday and no family can be there

I am bummed, and somewhat stressed.  My dad is pretty sick, not sure what exactly is going on but he just got admitted to the hospital again. He has been diagnosed with vertigo.  My mom can obviously not leave him.  My sister has 4 kids and will be watching DD for me, my other sister has 2 kids and may or may not make it because the would leave my other sister with 7 kids - 5 of which would be under 3 yrs old

So I am really worried about my dad and my mom is so stressed and sad that she cant be there, and I am bummed that my mom and sisters wont be there.

vent over -

oops, DH will be there lol

  • Not to be nosey but do you have a significant other?  Will he be there?  Do you have any girlfriends who could keep you company before and after?  There are still a few days left - maybe your mom will be able to make it.  Good luck!  You'll do great!

  • Goodness, I'd be upset too.

Will your DH/SO be able to come?

  • My step dad and Grandma both had vertigo last year and both havent had a problem since. Their drs put them on great meds and they have been fine. I hope that your Dad feels better soon.

You can look at your situation this way... your DD will be well cared for and having a lot of fun. Your mom will be taking care of your dad. And you can enjoy every quiet minute with your baby while you can. Let the nurses help you.... that is their job and they are amazing!

    Best wishes!

  • I'd be bummed too!  Maybe something will change between now and Monday.  Hope it works out.
  • lol sorry I forgot to add that DH will be there ;)
  • My mom is my only family in town, so she'll be with DD and it will be just DH and I at the hospital when I have my c-section too.  Honestly, I prefer it that way.  I figure my mom can bring DD after we are settled in our room.  The actual C-section doesn't take that long (from what I remember), and only one support person is allowed in anyway (or at least that's how it is at my hospital).
  • That is a bummer. Sorry there's so much going on.

My parents will be here, at my house, but the hospital has a strict no visitor policy right now. Only DH can be there due to H1N1.

Hopefully you'll be out quickly and everything will settle down and people can come see you at home.

Good luck. Try not to stress.

  • Our hospital only allows s/o or dh, and grandparents.  Your hospital may have a restriction on family and visitors too.  Sorry!
