Toy recs for 1 year olds?

What are your LO's favorite toys?  I thought I'd try and get a jump on Christmas/birthday shopping.  Thanks!

    DS liked his Melissa & Doug big peg wooden puzzles, bounce and spin zebra and anything musical that made noise and lit up.

    As a 1 year old - pushing toys!  That stupid "popcorn popper" toy that we had as kids is still a favorite of Lucas'.  I also got him the Melissa and Doug alligator push toy which he LOVES.

    The Melissa and Doug shape sorter (it is for 2+) has been great too.  He really likes it.  He also has this tool bag from Wal-mart that sings and has a few tools in it.  It was cheap, and there is a girl one just like it that is pink and is a purse.

    Balls and stacking cups are also long-term favorites!

    Stacking cups, shape sorters.  DD has a sesame street "my first purse" that she really loves.  It comes with a toy cell phone,keys,comb,lipstick.  She likes anything that makes music and lights up.  She has a fisher price piano that is a favorite.  Oh and anything Elmo :)
