help me find adorable bookends

we're going to do this ikea bookshelf and want to put our books on top in a big row. because there are no natural sides to hold them up, we'll need some sturdy bookends. i LOVE this penguin option but i'm not willing to spend 100 dollars for the pair:

help me find a suitable alternative that's not as expensive but just as cute! i'm open to other types (i.e. it doesn't have to be an animal) but want something that speaks to childhood in some way - no carved marble statues, please!

We have the same bookshelf! I love it. We are using it in white.

I love the 2 links that were posted too, but depending upon your style, PBK has alphabet ones (an A and Z)! They are cute and i think like $50? But don't quote me on it.

I want to get these elephant ones from Land of Nod. They are slightly cheaper than the penguins you posted, but still pretty pricey at $44 apiece. I'm still debating whether I want them bad enough to spend that much on them:

kittykat, those are from the same line as the penguins, actually! the manufacturer has three animal options and your picture shows the two other ones available. maybe land of nod just doesn't offer the penguins.
