When is a good time to introduce? Sadly, we have one bottle that DS takes (Adiri $$$) and really don't want to buy more if he could transition to a sippy cup every now and then. Is there an appropriate age?
Pedi said 6 months with some water or water mixed with no-added sugar juice.
We bought one of those bright colored 'name' sippy cups - because it is small and DS could lift it well. We also bought one of the dr. b ones with the handles. He took to it like a fish to water. He just knew what to do. I wouldn't say he drinks a lot from it - but he knows how to use it.
We don't use it for formula though. Ask pedi maybe they have some advice?
About 6 months is when you should start. We tried one yesterday just for fun (grandma brought one over) with a very, very tiny bit of water and he did well. He can't bring it up to his mouth very good, but he was able to drink from it.
My pedi said we could let DD have a sippy with water if we chose to. Obviously she isn't taking it like her bottle but we let her have it when we feed solids.
Every pedi recommends different things. It's a personal choice just like introducing solids.
BIL got DS his first sippy cup the other day and it said it was for 3mo and up. That seems way too young to start but I guess some people start that young? DS just started practicing with his cup. He still isnt really sure what to do with it but he likes trying
6 months - and weren't the Adiri bottles discontinued & clearanced out?
OOh, where??!!
Amazon.com has the Stage 2 (3-6 month) Adiri bottle for half price, $5.99 per bottle. There are some discounts on the other stages as well if you just search Adiri.

I was wondering the same thing.
