So in the last 2 weeks, I've lost 4 pounds, according to the scale in my OB's office for my 28w appt. today. Boo.
She's not overly concerned, just brought it to my attention that I've lost weight.
I think my problem is that I've definitely gotten to the point where i just physically can't eat much right now. I'll be STARVING and then eat 3 bites and be so full I can't put any more in my mouth. I tried forcing myself to eat more yesterday and ending up throwing up. Not good. I know this means eat less but eat more often. But I'm apparently still not getting enough calories.
Anyone else have this issue? What did you do--drink Boost or something?
Re: Trouble eating in 3rd Tri
I've gotten in the habit of adding ground flaxseed to various foods (e.g., putting a tablespoon in my cereal, yogurt, smoothie, etc.). It's a great source of Omega-3 (wonderful for babies' developing brains) and fiber, and doesn't have much flavor so you can still enjoy the original food you were eating (you do get a slightly grainy texture though). There are about 60 calories in a tablespoon, which isn't much but I find that you get so much nutritional bang for your buck and flaxseed isn't too filling. Otherwise, you can always resort to the calorie-dense foods like nuts, peanut butter, etc.
Good luck!
I had this problem too. I started drinking protein shakes between meals. Be careful which ones you choose, though. You don't want ones with Creatine and weird muscle builder junk. It worked well for me. I also ate a lot of applesauce. Hope that helps!
