When to register?

I will be 20 weeks this Friday.  We are planning the baby shower the last weekend of February because I am due April 2nd.  My mom wants me to go register before Christmas.  Do you think that's too early?  When do you think is a good time to go register?? 

Just in case you were wondering, we are going for our big ultrasound on Friday but we aren't finding out the sex of the baby so that isn't an issue.

I registered around 22ish weeks, but then had to update a few times because items became unavailable or I realized things I had forgotten.

I started registering at around 18 weeks -- I was a little impatient to get started.    I check our registries online on a fairly regular basis, to make sure items aren't out of stock or discontinued (and, um, because I like registry stalking).

So I certainly don't think it's too early for you to start your registries.  And it's a good idea to register before Christmas, in case friends and family want to buy you baby gear as Christmas presents.

We started registering at 25 weeks, shower invites will be sent at 28 weeks, and the shower is at 33 weeks.

I think you are fine to register before Christmas.

I started my registeries around 18 weeks and I am still adding a few things here and there as I think of items.

We started to register around 20 weeks, and finally finished last weekend. ?GL!

I started around 17-18 weeks.  I looked at all the recommended items lists and read Baby Bargains and then made myself a spreadsheet of needed items, ideal items and wish list items.  Then I picked a category a week and worked on that (ie car seats one week, furniture another, etc).  I found taking my time with it really worked for me.
