Reflux

How long if at all did you have the crib on an angle.  My little guy was born at 29 weeks and is about 5 months actual.  I still have the crib an a slant but he is moving around alot and I have gone to get him and found him upside down which can't be good for his reflux.

Re: Reflux

  • I moved the crib back down when she started to roll around.  I put it back on an angle every now and then if she is having a back night.  Which are very few since she is on jar food now :)

  • Can I ask how you angled the crib? I need to do this

  • I put a pillow under one side. Just a standard size pillow from the bedroom. Or they do have a thing call the wedge at Babies R Us that goes under one side :)
  • We put wood blocks under one side of the crib, or you can use books.

  • I had Robbie up on a boppy for a long time, which kept him from rolling aorund so much. Once he got big enough that he wouldn't stay on that either, we went back to flat. He did start spitting a bit more, but not much else I could do about it.
  • We were 28 weeks and still on a wedge. We got a huge wedge from the hospital as well as something called a Tucker sling.  It essentially is like a fitted sheet on one side and attaches to the side of the mattress that is elevated by the wedge and has a piece that comes down that holds the baby in place.  I swaddle him and put him in this, and he stays put. Otherwise, the wedge is so steep, he could use it like a slide on the playground! This this is such a blessing. He still spits up, but nothing like he would if lying elevated by telephone books.
  • We took the  mattress wedge out when he started to roll/move!

When he woke up upside down one morning, we knew it needed to come out ASAP! Indifferent

  • We use a stationary bouncer (Fisher Price Baby Papysan) works like a dream...both of my reflux boys slept in it!
