Anyone have the BOB Sport Utility Jogging Stroller?

My parents said they want to get me my jogging stroller for my babyshower. I was thinking of the BOB Sport. Anyone have it and like or dislike it? I really like the BOB Revolution too, but don't want my parents to spend even more money on it. Thanks!

  • Nope- but DH promised he'd buy me a BOB if I complete the couch to 5k program before a race in April... so that I can run with DS.

  • We have the Revolution and LOVE it.  It was one of our only splurges and so worth it.  If you intend to use it for anything other than jogging, please consider the Revolution.  The lockable rotating wheel is so useful and it seems like it would be a pain to negotiate the grocery store or a festival with only a locked wheel.

Yes, I take my BOB to the grocery.  Smile  DS rides in comfort, fewer people try to touch him, and the stroller basket is big enough for a small shop.  I love it.

If you can, I suggest going to a store that has the strollers you like in stock.  When I was expecting DS we drove about an hour to visit a jogging store that sold them and we were able to take 'em for a spin down the sidewalk.  After that, and trying out my cousins Baby Jogger, it was easy to make our decision.  It is a lot of money, but they really are great strollers that will hold up and be useful for a long time.

There are some accessories for the BOB that I recommend.  We were able to register for some of them at BRU, but now sure if you still can.  The car seat adapter is great.  We never needed another stroller because of it.  The handlebar console is nice (two cup holders and a zipper pocket for keys, phone, etc.).  We also like the Warm Fuzzy seat liner to keep baby cozy and the weather shield to keep the rain and snow off.

    Whatever you go with, GL!

  • I tried out the double stroller one when we were pregnant with DD. It was between that and a Phil and Teds and I can say I know I made the right decision.....I got the Phil and Teds. I'm so mad I didn't get this as my first stroller and then when we decided to have another, we could have just bought the doubles attachment and been done with it! I HIGHLY recommend it though if you are planning on having another child within 3 yrs of having this LO.

  • I have it (got it off craigslist) and I don't like it. DH does, but I really miss not having a front wheel that turns. I would get the revolution if I had to do it all over again. Then again though - I'm not a jogger, I'm a walker :)
  • Does the sport utility have a rotating front wheel?  That is critical IMO.

I had it narrowed down to the BoB Rev and the BabyJogger City Elite.  When I tried them in person I liked the City Elite way more for a lot of reasons that I can type out if you want to hear them.

The best price I have seen for the BoB Rev is 20% off during REI's sales.  They have them 2 or 3 times a year and members can get 20% off a single item.

  • i have the bob revolution and it's great. are you planning to get a travel system too? you can actually get a car seat adapter for the bob revolution, that way you only need one stroller. that way you might even save some money.

See, I hate HATE hate the P&T for a single.  Compared to other single joggers the P&T sucks.  So I am glad I have the BJ single for my single.  We just bought a used P&T for when #2 comes and although it will be great for 2 kids, I never use it for just DS.

  • We have the Revolution, LOVE it! Really can't say enough good things about it.

No it doesn't. I honestly didn't even look at that. Thanks! I do want one that swivels. I'll ask for the revolution and pay the difference then! I would rather not spend money on two strollers and use one for jogging and another for shopping. Thanks for all the advice!
