So, my poor daughter has been horribly neglected over the past few weeks while I have suffered from Morning Sickness. She is really getting bored with watching me lay on the bathroom floor with my head in the toilet and I made up some silly story about the baby "dancing in my belly" which was what gave me the tummy ache. I feel like a horrible mother. She and I usually spend lots of time together doing fun things and I feel like I'm letting her down. She's not starving to death or anything, but I'm really missing out on "fun time" with her because, simply, I am NO FUN these days.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Bethany
Re: Taking care of a three year old with M/S
First, don't beat yourself up about this! Chances are very good that she won't remember.
Will she watch a movie or play on her own while you're sick? What about having a box of toys in the bathroom for her to play with if she wants to be near you? Try to have something already set up for her so that if you feel sick, she can either come with you and play in the bathroom or go off to play with one of her "activities" that you've set out.
((HUGS)) I hope the m/s passes quickly. I went through horrid m/s with this pregnancy and did my fair share of feeling guilty too.
ETA: I second the Zofran. It made me feel human enough to interact with the kids again.

Buy her crayola bathtub crayons and let her draw on the bathroom tub while you are in there. Gross, but it gives her something to do while you are puking.
Feel Better!!
