2nd Trimester

stroller rec for you new moms

Just wanted to say I have the Graco Metrolite and hate it.  Even though it's supposedly light, it's still rather heavy at 17# and also rather clunky in the racks of a store.  I wish I'd gotten a Maclaren instead.

I'm getting a super duper double stroller for my guys soon since I won't need a single anymore.

ETA: I'm not recommending a Maclaren, just saying the Metrolite sucks in stores and is surprisingly heavy.

A lot of mom's love the metrolite. Remember with a Maclaren you can't recline the seat so a baby can't sit in it until 6 months. Strollers are definitely something that every mom will have a different opinion on but I don't think a Maclaren is a good fit if you want to start using the stroller from day one.

There are Maclaren models that have reclining seats.

There actually are Maclarens that are suitable from birth. There is one that you can snap an infant seat into, it reclines flat and it comes with the infant head support thingy.

Most Maclarens I agree are not suitable from a young age, but not all.

  • Mine is the literider isn't that smaller than the metrolite? I also have a snap n go if I find the stroller to be too big.
  • Good to know! Thanks. I know you didn't recommend a Maclaren, but it's actually what I'm looking at, the Techno XLR can hold a snugride etc and then lasts up to 65lbs
