Q about Moses Baskets?

Sorry if this is an idiot question....but what do you set it on? Do you just put it in the bed with you? For some reason I'm totally confused on how you survive with just the basket!

They sell Moses basket stands and I think you can also just set it on the floor.  I wouldn't put it on any other high surfaces (a table, etc.) unless you are keeping a constant eye/hand on it.  I'd be afraid of the baby moving and knocking the basket to the ground!
