3rd Trimester

NELLIE RUTH IS HERE AND 9 DAYS OLD!

So here's my birth story, i guess:

?

Husband and I were in Pensylvania on our way to Kentucky when we got the call from our Baby Mama (if confused, please see my little pregger bar at the bottom--used Gestational Carrier) saying that her water broke. It was around 11am Eastern time, and we had to get to Western Kentucky (Central time). Husband and I drove 80-90 MPH on highways (luckily didn't run into any state troopers) and only stopped for food and gas. We FINALLY arrived in Owensboro, KY at 9pm and went into teh birthing room to see our little girl come! Baby Mama's water broke, but was having no contractions and was nearing the 12 hour mark since her water broke. After many arguments with the nurses (error in communication between bitchy nurse leaving her shift and next nurse in) ?they induced her with pitocin (sp?) and within an hour, we had our shining little girl in our arms (she came at 2:13am). It was almost as if I had physically delivered her bc the doctor let my husband cut the chord and I was the first to hold her. We got to hold her for about 30-45 mins and then they took her to get her warm and clean her up. The hospital, very apologetic about the error in communication (Dr said if we weren't in the hospital by 3am then to giver her pitocin, but if we got there before to start her induction immediately after we arrived---didn't happen that way) that they gave hubby and i our own room in the baby/Mother unit with 3 meals a day. Nellie was in such good condition that they released us the next ?day (the 30th). Her birth weight was 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 inches. I called her Pediatrician in NY to give her the good news, and then she told me she wanted to see the baby Monday (it was Friday). So later Friday night, we were packed in the car for our FIRST family car ride. We stayed the night in Louisville, Kentucky (2-3 hour drive from Owensboro in pouring rain). Saturday, Nellie, hubby and I made a quick stop in Louisville at the Louisville Slugger Factory and Museum and we bought Nellie her very own pink Louisville Slugger with her name on it. Then it was back on the road and straight home. Now that she's home, she's been a little angel (not too fond of night sleeping though). I love her to death and we are so happy. Thanks to everyone who has given me great advice and supported me through this journey!

?

PS- she had a FULL head of hair too!?
