Short dresses while pregnant

Honestly, do you think its tacky?

I have a wedding tonight and want to wear this blue silk dress i have from years ago but its kinda on the shorter side, about 4 inches above my knee.  I could just go with this maternity dress i have but i feel better in the blue one.

  • I say show off your legs and go with the short dress! I think it's cute!

  • Where what you want, F em.
  • I say go for it! I think if I could pull it off, I would.... but I have those awful cottage cheesy pregnant lady legs so I can't :(

But I do suggest walking around the house in it, trying to sit , stand , lean in it to make sure everything is in check before going. What it felt like prepregnancy may be way different than now....

  • If you feel amazing in it then you should wear it.  As a PP said- wear it around the house a bit first just to make sure you will be comfortable in it all night- but so long as you feel good in it and you can sit/stand/etc. I don't see a reason not to wear it!
  • I personally wouldn't go with a short dress, but that's just because I feel like like I am already so top-heavy that I would look silly, and would need some fabric to balance things out.

BUT this is without seeing either dress, and I think I am just really insecure with how big I look, so just choose the dress you love and feel the prettiest in!

This (right down to the cottage cheesy pregnant lady legs :( )

  • Wear what you're going to feel great in! I know I wouldn't feel comfortable in a short dress, but if you do, go for it.
  • Wear what you feel great in! Have fun.
  • Wear what you feel good in!

  • I say got for it and wear some fun tights/hose to feel a little more covered!

  • Wear what you feel good in!  I would test it out around the house to make sure that everything is covered up.
  • OK thanks girls, im gonna wear it.  Definitley with thick black tights since its blue and black.

And pp.... its 4 inches above my knee now that im pg, i just tried it on.  It was actually teh same length before but that was because i was heavier then and lost some weight before getting pg.

  • I still wear above the knee length dresses to church, but they do look a little shorter than they did pre-pg and I have to wear tights under some of them now so I don't feel so bare.  I agree with PPs that said try it around the house and make sure it's gonna work without flashing your panties at anyone.  Wink
