Trying to Get Pregnant

Recommend a....

Good book. I am looking for a good fluffy read. Nothing too deep or anything that really involves thinking. I am in a training course for a new job and my brain has been saturated with knowledge so I need some funny chick lit to unwind on a cozy Saturday with. Any reccommendations??

  • I read My Horizontal Life...freaking hysterical! Along the same lines but from the man's POV, you can also read I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell by Tucker Max.

  • Easy chick lit - look for anything by Meg Cabot.  She writes adult books and is most known for the Princess Diaries kid's series.

  • Awesome! Thanks ladies. I think I read a Chelsea Handler book before. It was like a collection of one night stand stories and I laughed my way through the whole book. I am definitely going to grab one of those tomorrow! Thanks a million!

My BIL read this and loved it. Heard it's pretty raunchy.

    But I like raunchy. Wink

I've never laughed harder reading a book than I did reading Tucker Max. Definitely a little raunchy but it's more funny than anything. Definitely read it, they are coming out with a movie soon.

My Horizontal Life sounds pretty familiar. Is this the one that basically chronicles her one night stands?

Okay so 2 votes Tucker Max and since I have not read anything by him perhaps I'll grab that one! A male POV, now this will be hilarious!

  • All of Jen Lancaster's books are great!

But I also give my vote to Tucker Max. I FINALLY got my husband to read it and he loves it!!!

  • The Shopaholic series is great for fluffy, easy reads.

  • I love Marian Keyes' books.  They take place in Ireland/ England and are not heavy.  Try "Sushi for Beginners" or "Rachaels Holiday" or "Last Chance Saloon"

  • The Janet Evonovich Stephanie Plum books are good.  They are quick reads about a girl who becomes a bounty hunter.  They are really funny, and kind of "mindless" reads, in a good way - Not to emotionally draining, just entertaining!

  • *furiously writes down titles*

I didn't realize Tucker Max's book had come out. I used to read his blog waaaaay back in the day--like 2003-2004. What a (hilarious) ***!

  • Great fluffy reads...anything by Jen Lancaster.  She writes "memoirs" but they are mostly books making fun of herself, her neighbors, her husband, pretty much anything and everything.  Her first book is called Bitter Is the new Black: Confessions of a Condescending, Egomaniacal, Self-Centered Smart Ass or Why You Should Never Carry a Prada Bag to the Unemployment Office.  It's good stuff.
