I know we should have a pediatrician picked out before the baby comes, but did anyone "interview" with any doctors beforehand? Or can I just choose a pediatrician without meeting them first? My childbirth instructor said if we have one chosen, they will come the day after delivery to examine the baby (not the in-house pediatrician). What are all of you doing?
Re: Choosing a pediatrician
you are "supposed" to interview them... but honestly, I do not have enough time to interview them. I am sure I will hop around to pediatricians after birth (just like I hopped around to OBs before birth)... so I'm just gonna pick somewhere with convienient hours for now.
We're going to do some "meet the doctor" visits. I have one scheduled so far.
If you don't want to interview, you should at least call the practice and ask about their hours, after hours calls, etc.

This is pretty much what we did, too, but we chose a family practice doctor that we will all see instead of a ped.
