So I just found some cute pumpkin coats at Gymboree in both sizes. Do you think it's cute or weird to dress your children the same? Both are girls and will be 18 months apart.
Our 2u2 are different sexes, but if they were the same, I don't think I'd dress them alike routinely. ?Maybe for pictures or a special occasion (matching Christmas dresses or something), but it's not something I'd do often.?

NO WAY on the dressing alike! LOL! NEVER in my house. Not even on holidays.
I have such bad visions of this from when I was younger - my mom did it ALL the time with us and both my sis and I HATED HATED HATED it (we're 20 months apart).........I mean, I can remember being 8 years old and dressing alike.....UGH!
Mommy to Barbara 11/8/05, Elisabeth 5/13/07, Loukas 12/23/08 and Lazarus 09/25/12
I said I would never do this but... I did make one exception. I bought DD1 a new outfit to wear on the day that her little sister comes home that matches the baby's coming home outfit. My hope is that it will help her feel like they have something in common? Otherwise, no, I don't plan to dress them alike. I'll probably dress them according to their individual personalities.

I definitely won't dress them matching on a regular basis, but for certain occasions I will probably have them coordinate. I got matching dresses for them for Thanksgiving already, but in the future I will probably do outfits that are a similar style but different designs or coordinating colors. I think its cute as long as its not over the top.
DH HATES this but I adore it so.... I buy them matching jammies so it's just for around the house. Figured it was a good compromise.
I do sometimes put them in the same shirt. I don't think it's weird if you're not doing it ALL the time.
The truth is that if we're at a park and they're both running around it's easier for me to look for just one outfit. I know that sounds lame but once they're both running off in different directions it really was a useful tool for me!
I also find myself putting them in similar colors - again I think that subconsciously it's easier for me to find them when we're out at a park.
Gymboree has some super cute stuff that's of a similar line but not 100% matching.
Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.

I totally agree. If we go out somewhere where there is going to be a lot of people or kids I do dress them alike or similiar. Its a lot less stressful to me to just have to remember one outfit. Also I think its cute. Especially for special occasions. Now when they get to the age where they have their own styles and opinions I will let them choose whatever they want.
My girls are 19 months apart and while I don't do it very often I do do it. Especially on special occassions and Pumpkin coats sound very darling so go for it. BTW~ My girls loooove to dress alike and as much as it drove me crazy that my mom did it with my sister and myself I'm doing it too )
Once in a while I will. Or I will coordinate them. Like for Christmas cards they'll be in coordinating outfits. I don't think it's cheesy if you do it occasionally.
mine are 17 months apart...I swore I would never dress my girls the same b/c my mom dressed me and my sister the same-- but as I write this my girls have on matching shirts and jeans...I'd say at least 2x a week they match...I love it and will continue to dress them the same as long as I can get away with it!
My girls are 21 months apart and we do sometimes dress them alike. They love it at this point. Today, they both have on jeans with a t-shirt that they decorated this summer and sweatshirts that we bought them the same this summer. We had picked it out for my younger DD and my older one asked to wear the same thing. They often pick out their own clothes. I think its cute but I don't do it all the time - for things like pictures we sometimes do the same thing and sometimes just things that are simlar so they don't clash. Again, most days, they pick their own clothes. My sister has 3 girls and at times, have all worn the same winter coats - its cute when they are little. I know some people hate this though!
We aren't sure what we are having yet, but if we have another girl, I will not dress them alike. I am sure for special occasions they will match - but not the same outfits.
