Anyone go to a thrift store for dress up or dramatic play

clothes for their kids?  I was thinking this would be a great idea since the girls are rough on their play dresses.  I don't usually shop at these places but are there usually some good finds?  Are the clothes usually ok?

Re: Anyone go to a thrift store for dress up or dramatic play

  • Yes.  And my grandmother's when she passed away.  DD loves to play with scarves from Salvation army.  I have also bought a lot of "fancy dresses in one or two sizes up there.  She has gloves, evening bags, scarves, hats, and dresses from them.  She spends most of her at home time playing dress up and playing with her babies.
  • I've actually gotten Halloween costumes when they get marked down. dd is only one, so I'm planning ahead I guess. I got a disney Tinkerbelle costume with wings for two bucks at Meijer.  But the thrift stores are great for the hats, costume jewelry, gloves.

  • Yep!  Especially since Halloween is over, they should have a good amount of dress up stuff.
