Nurseries and Baby Gear

Anyone who painted a mural/stencil on wall...

I have a friend who is going to free hand a tree on one of the nursery walls - and I would like to have the supplier ready.  What kind of paint do you recommend??  Just regulare wall pain?  Or one from a craft store?  Also, what would be the best to sketch the tree on the wall?  Chalk or a white colored pencil?  The wall is already a milk chocholate brown... so wondering what will show up best.  Thanks for any advise/suggestions...!

  • I used acrylic paint from a craft store. IMO it is easier to control, and goes on easier then regular wall paint and drys faster so if you need more then one coat you can do it the same day. Plus, if doing something with more then 1 color it is a lot cheaper, a small bottle of acrylic sells for 99 cents or less.

  • I painted a 9' tree in my granddaughter's nursery.  I bought the sample size of paint in eggshell finish.
