I am doing my glucose test tomorrow around 2pm. Is it better to have it with a late lunch? Do an early lunch and have it later? Am I going to screw myself by eating around the same time?
Assuming you are talking about the 1 hour - you can eat before it but not after. At least that's what my instructions said. I would probably eat lunch at a normal time and then drink your drink.
They told me to eat normally but to eat an hour prior to the drink and then eat nothing after you've had the drink. So you're basically not eating for 2 hours before your test.
I was not given any instructions for my glucose test but ate normally during the day. I ate lunch around 11:45, drank my glucose at 2:15 (took me 10 minutes to choke it down) and then had my blood drawn at 3:25. It was fine. good luck.
Re: Can I drink Glucose Drink w/ lunch?
What did your doctor tell you to do?
Some docs have you fast for a few hours before the test, some don't.
But you shouldn't be drinking the glucose stuff two hours before the test - you drink it at the lab and then they draw your blood an hour later.
ETA: some people get the drink to take home, and then you have to drink it and be at the lab within the hour.
But your doc should have given you instructions on what to do.
