Babies: 9 - 12 Months

do I need to re-ferberize?

Ugh!  Dd was sick & is still cutting her molars, so we've all been having a hard time.  In the past month too, which is when falling asleep has become a problem, she started crawling & pulling up.  Now I'll rock her & she'll be super drowsy, but the minute she's in her crib she basically bounces awake & will play, climb, crawl around for a LONG time.  If I bring her out & rock her she'll basically fall asleep, then the same thing happens again.  I'm afraid i've messed up & now we'll have to re-ferberize.  She's not upset in her crib- but still.

What do you think?

Re: do I need to re-ferberize?

  • We've been dealing with teething and DD getting up 2-4 times per night. I've been nursing her and rocking her to help get her back to sleep.  I think we will have to re-Ferberize this weekend.  I'm not looking forward to it, but I know how well it worked the first time.  Good luck!

  • we didnt ferber so i can't help with that.   but omg she is cutting her molars at 9 months????  i am so sorry!

  • Right around 9 months we went through a horrid time with sleep and separation anxiety. If she is content playing and chilling out in her crib, why don't you just let her be and maybe she will put herself to sleep?

DD #1 passed away in January 2011 at 14 days old due to congenital heart disease
DD#2 lost in January 2012 at 23 weeks due to anhydramnios caused by a placental abruption
  • We had to re-do CIO a few weeks ago - a fun series of colds/teething and travel got DD off track for several weeks.  It only took one night and we were back to STTN the night again.

  • We've tried.  She'll play in there- even at night when it's dark for so long- after an hour when she's totally still perky we just go in there.  It makes me sad to think of her hanging out alone in the dark.

    Aaah.
