Babies: 0 - 3 Months

what should I register for?

We're not getting a changing table and all of the pads seem so big, what am I looking for to put on the dresser to change the baby?

Why do so many people register for a humidifier?

Do I really need a bottle sterilizer or warmer?  I'm planning on breast feeding, what do I really need for that?

Re: what should I register for?

  • 1. We just use the pads that are fabric on one side, plastic on the other.  We have about 6 and just change her where ever we are.

    2. No idea.

    3. Absolutly not.  If you do need to use a bottle, you can sterilize in a pot on the stove and warm with a glass of hot water from the tap.

  • I breastfeed and mainly use:  burp cloths, boppy, nipple pads (for leaking), nursing sports bras, pump, breastmilk freezer bags.  I don't use bottles so not sure about the rest.

We do use a humidifier.  My DSs skin was just so sensitive at first, so the extra moisture in the air helped him.  We leave it on now that it is colder and the air is dry.

We bought one of the changing pads and use it on a dresser.  It works real well for us.  It is large, but he is only going to get bigger.  I like the contour pad, so that he doesn't wiggle off (not that I leave him!).

  •  - you can get the pad and put it on a dresser. get some munchkin disposable paper pads - they are awesome, you can just toss them after an accident and you dont have to change the fabric pad cover and do laundry each time

    - humidifier is up to you, eventually you will need one from what i hear

    - instead of a sterilizer get the munchkin sterilizer bags. they are awesome and you get 20 uses per bag before you have to toss them

....also soothie pacifiers are awesome as well

You could get something like this --- best to get one that has security straps so the pad stays attached to the dresser.

Not sure. But go ahead and register for one. You can always return it for something else if you like.

I BF primarily but we use our sterilizer and bottle warmer a lot b/c DS goes to daycare and we need to sterilize his bottles and my pump parts. We use the warmer for baby food in the jars and to warm pumped breast milk. We love this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001C3MHF0/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000056OUG&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=17FSNV1V52A828BYC5QM

That said, you could get a microwave sterilizer (much cheaper than the electric), boil bottles, nipples etc or don't sterilize at all.

    Warmer: https://www.amazon.com/First-Years-Bottle-Warmer-System/dp/B000056HMB

If you don't want a warmer, you could just heat bottles and food in warm water.

    Good luck!

Ditto...steam bags are GREAT! That's another option.
