Last update on Scissorgate 2009

in case anyone else is wondering, I forgot to post this morning.

I did go watch the tape last night, everything happened off camera-but the kicker was there was about 3-4 other kids over there. (and I pointed that out to her) So, it could have been either of them I guess.

We agreed that since it can't be for sure that my son hurt him there will not be an incident report put in his file and I will not have to sign anything. Now we're moving forward...we have started using the notebook, and yeaterday DS had a good day. Took a toy from another child one time in the morning, but had a great afternoon so he earned a sticker.

Now we are just going to move forward...

  • I'm glad everything got straightened out, to the best it could anyway. Hopefully DCP learned a lesson about keeping 2-3 yo's supervised at all times!

and not to lie about sh!t to me... :) I re-iterated that one of my biggest concerns was that I was told so many different versions of what happened. If the truth would have been told in the 1st place a LOT of stress could have been saved. She (of course) apologized and agreed.

  • You know what? I've been following your story, and I think I'd pull my kid out. (eh, maybe not if I was definitely going SAHM in a few months, but...)

It would really bother me that there were several kids standing there, and it was automatically assumed it was my kid who did it. It doesn't matter if your kid is more difficult, or your kid is louder, or is always the one taking toys, etc. Even Susy Perfect can grab scissors and stab. I would be furious at this last update of yours the most- that no one ever knew it was your kid, it was just assumed. Your kid deserves to be treated with love, kindness, and fairness at daycare.
