How much money to spoil a child? (xmas)

How much money do you think is too much to spend on holiday gifts?

Everyone has different incomes and different family backgrounds.  I am just curious when you think a child is "spoiled"

This is per child.

  • I can't vote b/c I don't think any monetary amount spoils a child - it's an attitude that you instill.

Either your kids are grateful for the things they get or they aren't, at any price point.

    Totally agree!

  • This is totally subjective and based on income and lifestyle...there have been years I have spent much more than $800 and DS is not spoiled.

  • I agree w/ eclaires...I mean just because I want to buy my DDs better quality toys which often cost more (but also can last through the 4+ children I plan on having) doesn't mean they are any more spoiled than a kid that gets say 10 $3 dolls.  Quantity & cost does not equate spoiled IMO.

  • I agree in general, but I still think most people have a number in their head where they think "holy crap you spent HOW much on your kid?"
