f/u To my post yesterday about the guy who tried to pick up our kids...

DH scoured the neighborhood last night for vans matching the one the kids described - and found one right down the street from us.  He took a pic, and gave it to one of his co-workers, whose husband works for the police department.  Five minutes later, we have his name, description, and criminal history - which does NOT include any prior acts against children.  His description, however, matches what the kids gave us.

The PD is going to give him a visit, and see what the hell he was thinking, trying to pick up two kids that don't know him on a perfectly nice afternoon, in broad daylight.  (Also a little weird that he did this like 2 blocks from his house.)

  • Wow that is crazy!
  • Just because he was never charged with an act of douchebaggery does not make him a saint. Just makes him a lucky douchebag whose never been caught before. Hope it's not him because 2 doors down is too close for comfort.

  • I am still freaked out about this.  He must be a total lunatic.  Well, if there is anything positive about this (although this is a reach), maybe your children have learned a hard lesson about safety and street smarts.  GL
  • How scary! I can't imagine how freaked out you must be. It sounds like your kids did what they should do in that situation. Good for them for walking away and getting a description.
  • OMG, link me to the OP!

I am glad you guys are proactive.  Good luck, I hope it turns out to be some bizarre fluke.
