OBGYN recommendations?

I recently moved to Ankeny from the Omaha area. I work in Ames and my husband works in WDSM. I am very unhappy with my OBGYN practice (OBGYN and Associates) and want to find a new place. Do you ladies have any suggestions? We are looking for someone in the DSM area, but I would drive to WDSM if need be.

Well if you would be willing to go to someone in Ames, I'd recommend Dr. Beer at McFarland.

A lot of us on the DSM board go to/have gone to the OB Group at Lakeview Medical in WDM.  I know there are a couple other groups that have been recommended, but can't come up with names off the top of my head.

 

Head over to the DSM Nest board (it's pretty much a baby board.. we just like staying put ) and I know (if you're still looking for a new OB) you'll find a bunch of great recs.  GL!

I really like Women's Health Services.  I go to there office in WDM but I think they have an office in Ankeny too.  They delivered my first baby and I am going to them now too.

I also go to Women's Health Services and like them.  They do have an office in Ankeny which is convenient.  It is a place where they rotate you through 4 different doctors so you will be able to know each of them.  That way you have actually meet the person delivering your baby!

I would recommend the Ob/Gyn 6000 University Avenue in West Des Moines. Its called the Lakeview Gynecology. I go there and all of their doctor's are very nice. I couldnt see myself going anywhere else. They are all apart of the Iowa Health Psychians which means that you can go to 1212 Plesant which is at Iowa Methodist Hospital and see some of the same doctor's there...

Can I ask why you are unhappy with obgyn & associates?  That is the same I believe as the women's health specialists office that previous posters recommended.....if I'm not mistaken?

I go to the one out in WDSM The IOWA CLinic. They are amazing out there and take great of you. SO friendly.

I go to Dr. Curits L Hoegh at Iowa Health in Ankeny.  A friend from work recomended him and I loved him!!  I then found out that about 5 other people in my office go to him as well and none of them have had anything bad to say about him.  He was amazing durring my delivery and every check up.

If you want to stay at mercy I went to West Des Moines OB/GYN it's 6 female dr.s and 3 np's. I loved 5 of the 6

I use the midwives at Iowa Methodist Hospital and I loooove them. Started seeing them when I got pregnant and Susan Hernandez delivered DS. She was absolutely wonderful and hope to use her in the future. I'm going back in a week to get my IUD placed. So happy I found them.

She is great she is one of the three doctor's that got me to 37 weeks with my preeclampsia.

I went to Women's Health Services and LOVED the 4 Drs. that you see.  It is a different practice then OBGYN & Assoc. (a previous comment thought they might be the same & they aren't).  They have an office in Ankeny on Mondays off of Delaware (across from Buffalo Wild Wings) and the rest of the week they are in the Clive area.    They deliver at Mercy (downtown) and Lutheran.  They are great with everything, even call backs if you have a question.  Hope this helps!!
