One of my good friends (J) turned 30 on Sunday, and another friend of his is throwing a birthday brunch for him this Sunday coming up. I'm not really friends with any of his other friends, in fact, we all went to HS together and I was never a part of that particular group of people, though J and I are still very close. Apparently there aren't very many people going - maybe 10 or 15 - none of whom I am friends with... at ALL.
So... do I really have to go? (even though J is a good friend and it's for his bday?)
PS- J and I celebrated his bday early and went to dinner with a smaller group of people last week, so I'm technically not missing out on the well-wishes.
Re: I really don't want to go... WWYD?
if you don't want to go, don't go.
I was going to suggest doing something with J on the side instead, but sounds like you already did that. so you're in the clear IMO.
Don't go. And I think 10 - 15 people is actually a good turn out.
