Jewish girl with an Xmas question

wait-- santa doesn't bring ALL the presents?

He does in our house (MH is christian, and we celebrate jewish and christian holidays), but I am new to the whole santa thing-- how does it work in your houses?

Re: Jewish girl with an Xmas question

  • the kids get gifts from Santa and gifts from us.  is that what you mean?
  • Generally Santa brings the big unwrapped toys...Mom and dad/family buy things too

yeah-- santa brings everything in our house (b/c that's what MH's parents did)

  • In my house "Santa" brings each of the kids one gift, the rest are from "mom & dad"
  • For us Santa brings all the kids gifts and adults give gifts to each other.

  • We do some from Santa and some from mom and dad (plus grandparents, etc), Santa tends to bring the big gifts and those appear Christmas morning under the tree. The other gifts are wrapped and put under the tree as we get them. If Santa brought ALL the gifts there wouldn't be anything to shake/prod/guess at all month long! :)

    This.

  • Santa gives the toys - wrapped and unwrapped. M&D usually give some necessities and clothing - wrapped.
  • Santa brings one big gift and fills the stockings at our house.
    .
  • all gifts are from Santa ... I think you will find every house does it differently

This is how we did it.

  • Yep, in our house Santa brings one gift and it is small, wrapped and actually IN the Christmas tree.  He also fills the stockings.  My kids know that Santa is not real though.  We have always told them that "Santa" like the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy are fun things to pretend.  We even have a book, "Santa, Are You For Real".  It's a great book for those that don't want to go totally with the Santa thing.
