Passing Blood Clots After C-Section

I am heading in for an ultrasound and appointment with my doctor this afternoon, but I wanted to see if anyone has gone through this.

I had a c-section 5 weeks ago. I had my 2 week check up and the mid-wife said everything looked great. He had me start my birth control that following Sunday. I was still bleeding slightly from my c-section. Last Tuesday ( I was on my second week of the pill) I began bleeding VERY heavy. I called the doctor and they had me stop the birth control to see if that would stop the bleeding. I continued bleeding heavy, spoke with the doctor again, she told me to wait til Thursday to see if it would let up.

This morning in the shower I passed 4 blood clots larger than a golf ball. It completly freaked me out and thats when I called the office again. They set up the ultrasound and thats about all they said to me.

 Anyone deal with something like this?

Yes! The same thing happaned to me at 3 1/2 weeks pp. I had very little bleeding after the c-section, then almost 4 weeks later I started passing gigantic clots out of nowhere. I was so freaked that I actually paged my doctor at 2:00 am one morning because there was so much blood. He told me that sometimes that can happen - that a clot could be blocking the majority of blood/other clots, then suddenly shift and let everything loose. Mine lasted a few days and then stopped completely.

Yes, I had the same issues. I didn't stop bleeding until 5 1/2 weeks pp.

I passed my first big clot yesterday. I didn't see what size it was since I was urinating at the time but it FELT big. It was a wierd feeling for sure. I called my doc and she said it was normal.
